dead RSP 980 channels: SW & L surround

    dead RSP 980 channels: SW & L surround

    I hear very faint clicking each time I press the remote button to adjust the levels (up or down/OSD) but "no audio" other wise.

    any ideas besides what is probably obvious?

      Well I finally did it and upgraded my RSP-980 and RDA-975 to the RSP-1098 using a Rotel RB-985 AMP.

      First of all, the new processor is a beast. The 2 channel music is great and the surround sound processing is magic in comparison to my old gear.

      I've read a TON of posts on different forums. Unfortunately, some "other" forums struggle w/unbiased opinions.

      Simple rules: prefer Rotel, particularly the 980/981 amps and to what speakers you connected. Tap dance lightly but please avoid gross comparisons w/other brand amps...
