    RSP-1570 Phantom Centre

    Currently running LARGE Left & Right speakers with no centre channel but the centre channel downmix (dialogue&voice) comes off a little too soft.

    Is there a way to boost the centre channel by a few dB's?

      Not really. Do you mainly see it on Dolby Digital sources? Per Dolby's rules, starting with the 1069 the units have to apply night mode on any system not running a full 5.1 setup.

      IE, you will lose the dynamics of a Dolby-Digital source when you disable the center or rears.

      The only way around it is to get a two source mixer and enable the center. Send the front outputs to input one, the center outputs to input 2, and then mix it back down into one stereo output.

          Dolby + Blu-ray formats is where I normally notice the issue.

              I would imagine it's the same for Dolby+ if the 1570 is doing the decoding.

                  Is there any special trick to get a DVD which has a Dolby Digital Mono sound track to use more than just the Centre channel on a 1098?

                  I've tried changing modes, but it will only allow "Dolby Digital" and only enables the Centre channel. What I would like...

                  My Rotel works fine with DTS signal, but recently seems not working with any dolbydigital signal, strange ?

                  What can I do ?

                  Is it a hardware failure or something i can fix with a firmware install ou reinstall ?

                  Received my new RSP1570 on Monday this past week and on Wednesday noticed something very strange happening.

                  When I played a CD in my CD player through an optical connection to the 1570, the first half-measure or so of the first song was cut off.....just sounded like it skipped the first...
