This is no April Fools Joke folks. During the next couple of days, we will be picking a day to migrate HTGuide to a new server. We will have the same reliable service we have always had, as we are not changing Hosting Services, only moving to a new updated state of the art server! Support is working to coordinate things right now.
We will announce the date of migration from old server to the new server in due time. We hope to minimize downtime while the DNS propagates to our new IP address, and service is restored. But some downtime is inevitable.
No. The only way to select the audio to come from an HDMI device is to select an HDMI for video. And the only option for HDMI audio is the currently selected HDMI used for video.
I haven't seen that option from any brand unit, and doubt you will. That would require both devices to handshake all together.
I don't know your exact situation, but from what I've read I think you can set it up to route the soundcard audio through the video card's HDMI output (or vice-verse).
Unfortunately, even converting the video HDMI to component won't help as there's no way to set a non-HDMI video input to to use an HDMI for audio (something other brands can do).

Something interesting from CEDIA is that the new Cinema 11 Pre/Pro from Cary Audio has a special port for connection to a new video switching device to be announced after 1.3 HDMI is mainstream. Basically the Cinema 11 has only audio inputs (a full complement of Analog and Digital) and no video switching....
