    RSX-1550/1560 & PS3

    Hi Everyone,

Just wondering what settings I should use to send Truehd and DTShd to my 1550? Also does the ps3 send un-decoded truehd and dtshd to the 1550?

    Thanks Terry

    Terry,

The PS3 will not send the DTS MA-HD to your receiver - it does the decoding in the PS3. I can't recall if DD can be sent "raw" to the receiver.

    Cheers,

Just set your PS3 to decode all the formats. There is no benefit to having the Rotel decode it vs the PS3.

It can bitstream/send legacy DD & DTS to the receiver for it to decode. It just can't bitstream/send the new HD audio formats like TrueHD, DTS MA DTS-HD HR. Those must be decoded in the PS3 and sent as PCM to the receiver.

Set your PS3 to LPCM and let it decode everything.

          1550/1560 Discussion
          by tpirovol
          Hi Everyone,

I just had a few questions that people with a 1550 or 1560 can hopefully help me with.

          1) My 1560 runs fairly hot after DD programming does anyone else with a 1560 notice this as well? I thought it was suppose to run cool?

          2) When using a...

          Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if a fellow owner with a RSX-1550/1560/1570 & a PS3 could help me out with a test. When you are using your ps3 via HDMI it should show mutli-channel but when you play a divx does it go play in D PLII?

          RSX-1550 to RSX-1560/ 1562?
          by wildpanda86
I have an RSX 1550 with a full 5.1 speaker setup consisting of B&W 683's and it's matching HTM61 center.

I was curious about upgrading to an RSX-1560 or 1562 so I can bi-amp my 683's to get an improvement when listening to 2 channel audio from my CD source (an Oppo BDP-95) & Projekt...

          Dilemma 1550 or 1560
          by tpirovol
          Hi Everyone,

I have a real Dilema. I currently own the 1550 but can get the 1560 for $800 more. The question is does the amp is the 1560 sound that much better to spend the extra money.

Please let me know your thoughts if you have heard both.
          Thanks Terry

          1570 vs 1550/1560
          by tpirovol
          Hi,

Just wondering what DAC's the new 1550/1560 use and are they the same as the 1570? Just wondering what specifically is different in regards to the processing between the 1550 and 1570?

          Thanks Terry
