    Some Rotel Questions.

Well hello all on this board.

This is my first post but i've bin on here watching some of your amazing setups for a good long time..

Now it's my turn to post some questions, sinds i ordered some Rotel equipment that i will pick up the end of this week.

    The list is as follow.

    Rotel RMB-1095
    Rotel RSP-1098
    Rotel RDV-1093

As you can see it's all surround stuff..
But im gone use it for stereo as now.

My question is kinda weird and may seem stupid, but how do i connect this stuff to each other actually ? (cable ?)

If anyone can show it with a picture from the back of the units with some explanation to go with it, it would be most helpfull. ;x(

Also some tips or tricks about Bi-wire etc..

    I have the following setup

    B&W 803D
    Kimber 8-TC
    Marantz PM15S1 (goes away)
    Marantz DV7600 (goes away)
    Marantz SA7001 (goes away)

Thanks in advance, and glad to be aboard.

    Neo.

You will connect the RSP1098 & RMB-1095 with analog cables (same type that you would a CDP to your stereo. So that'll be 5 of those types of cables. I recommend using silver cables, but a good set of copper cables works as well.

For the DVD player, you'll need either a set of component cables or a HDMI cable to connect the DVD player to your TV and a coax or optical cable for the audio to go to the 1098.

Bi-wire is just a wire that is split into two sets to run to your upper/mid binding post and lower binding post from your amp. The benefits are something often talked about, some people notice them, some do not. I fall in the I have not heard a benefit over just using a good quality copper cable.
    Digital Audio makes me Happy.

don't forget to use the trigger output on your receiver to your amps, same wire as a headphone wire (male to male), to turn on your amps (also to your cd player if you want to turn on)

So it's like 2 from the rsp to the rmb (left and right channel) and 2 from the DVD player to the rsp. why 5 ? (im using some Audioquest connections in my current system (marantz) i have 6 of those cables total. (pairs)

The dvd player part is something i can understand (have it hooked up true HDMI right now with the Marantz on the Pioneer pdp 507XD. But i have the sound running from the tv to the amp right now.. (coax is an option ?)

Im using the Kimber 8-TC and sended an e-mail to kimber with somewhat the same question.. They said i don't need to upgrade the speaker cable and or... but can improve on analog cable.

Neo, I don't mean to be unkind, but there are pages of hook-up examples (with pictures) in the RSP-1098 user guide. There are more hook-up examples the handbooks for the other devices.

Did you look at the documentation? If you don't have it, you can download the handbooks as PDF's on Rotels website.

If you have a specific question, we are all willing to help, but really basic hooking up is the first thing in the book, so RTFM.

Upgrading power cables on my Rotel Equipment?
                      by Horacio
I'm contemplating upgrading my system with new power cables and would like to know if you think/know if this would improve sound quality.

I own a Rotel system: RCD-1072 CD player, RC-1070 pre amp, RB-1080 amp, with the power cables provided by Rotel, Nordost interconnects, B&W CM-4s,...

                      by pcking
Is it possible to connect both unbalanced and balance cables to the Rotel RB 991 Power Amp.I wanted to connect both a PREAMP and use the PRE OUT from an AVR.
I thought I could switch between 2 sources using the unbalanced/balanced switch on the back of the Power Amp.

                      Thanks

Rotel RSX-1056 or a Marantz, thoughts?

I’m looking for opinions from some folks that own Rotel equipment. I am currently looking at an RSX-1067 to replace an old Harmon Kardon system I've owned for many years. I know it's probably quite a step-up and will be pleasantly surprised when I do finally make the purchase but I'm wondering how...
