At the risk of sounding stupid, what is the ROTEL unit that has a screen on the front of it. Is it a DVD viewer or what?

It's the RSP-1098, a pre-amp/processor. The screen is used for menu navigation, and/or displaying an external source such as DVD or Sat. Its useful if you have your kit in a rack away from the main display. Otherwise, its probably a bit superfluous.- Mike
