Confused RSX-1057 Owner

Hi All.
Has been great trying to learn to set this receiver up but i am confused with the sound as sometimes when watching a newer movie i get 48 kHz floating across the screen. U-571 Eragon to name some. Would this be DTS..LOL could not find anything about this in the manual. The other is the subwoofer,how does one decide which crossover is better,is playing music the best way to find out.

48khz refers to a stereo PCM track. You should typically only see this in menus and previews. If you are selecting DTS in the dvd and see this, you probably have to go into the DVD setup and turn DTS on. You might have to turn Dolby Digital to bitstream as well.

As far as the crossover, you would generally look at your speaker specifications and subwoofer capabilities. Best bet is to set everything to 80hz to start. LEt us know what you are running and we'll offer some advice.

Rechecked my dvd and it was set wrong,so set it to bitstream and reset receiver,left sub to 100,Wow that sounds much better thanks.The whole room feels alive.All my speakers are missions,734i for the fronts,M7c2 center,rears M7ds also have 2 M71 for 7.1. sub is energy XL-S10,sub set for external crossover.all speakers are set using a spl meter at 70db,any help to fine tune system would be great
