    DVD 1050 poor video

    Hello All,

    I have a Rotel RDV-1050 that I can't for the life of me get clear video out of.

    I've tried region 1 NTSC, region 2 PAL, component, s-video, flat screen, projector...and it's always blurry.

    Any suggestions are very welcome -

      Make sure the SHARPNESS setting under the VFP menu is set to at least '1'. I've found that the setting of '0' is pretty much negative sharpness.

          I'm thinking of buyng RDV-1050 but are worried that they might not be region free. So is there anyone here from Canada who has a RDV-1050 who can tell me if it's region free or not?

          I´m having a hard time finding information & especialy reviews/test of the RDV-1050 dvd player.

          I have already ordered the RSP-1068 & RMB-1075 & it would be nice to have a matching dvd player.

          But i´m a bit concerned about the quality of rotel´s dvd players....

          I have had region code error problems since buying an RDV 1050 E 2 years ago. As time passes the equipment seems able to read less and less of the DVD's that we buy. Can anyone help please in to reprogram the equipment to read any region code DVD.

          Hi!

          Just got a brand new RDV-1050 and to my astonishment and disappointment it seems that it is not possible to get a region hack for it. That possibility has been available for each and every DVD player I have ever had so is that really the case? If so, is that some kind of a sick Rotel...
