    RSP1069, is this an issue

OK,this is hard for me to explain

my question is related to sound or maybe channel seperation.

While watchind dvd's, and viewing the display, the sound shifts from center to right or left speaker when the voice is just off center of the display(either left or right)

What its like is, there is a setting for dolby prologic for center channel spread(center width) in the dimension setting, well thats what seems to be happening to dolby digital 5.1/7.1

I thought that my speakers were out of phase but thats not the case.

Does anyone know whats happening or how to fix it, OR if it a problem at all.

Also, I have heard sounds through my speakers that sounded like a chewed tape 8O

    Thanks
    Rick

Not a problem I've seen or heard of. Honestly sounds like the center channel volume is lower then it should be. That could easily cause the focus to shift.

      Thanks for the reply Kevin,

The strange thing is, this does not happen in Dolby pro-logicIIx or DD5.1/7.1 from FTA

I was viewing the movie's "CARS",and another(which I cant remember) when I noticed it,but upon viewing other movies it did not exhibit this behaviour so it could directly be linked to those particular dvd's.

Anyway I am very happy with it and so far have not had any issues at all, video or audio and with the latest firmware, it seems to pass YCbCr 4.2.2 untouched (DVDO vp50>RSP1069>Sony kds60r2000)
