    Rotel amplifier break in time

    Hello my friends

Once again I would like your advice regarding the break in time of Rotel amplifiers

    I recently purchased

    RDV 1045
    RT 1080
    RC 1082 and
    RB 1080

    with Bose 901 and
    M1.2 Monster speaker cables

My question is what is the break in time especially for the RB 1080 and RC 1082.

    Thank you

    John

I had the RMB 1075 and currently have RMB 1095 and even though I was told by the dealer and per Rotels manual I haven't noticed any difference. It sounded good out of the box.

John, I have those two pieces and I get huge enjoyment from them. In 10 years time some components may deteriorate and negatively affect the sound but until then I think you will find that they sound the same every time you use them. The only things that will break in are your ears.

As the others have said, IMO break in time takes as long as it takes for your ears to get used to the sound, which will change very little in the first 10 years or so. In other words, enjoy the music!

The 1080 takes around 50-100 hours to lose its "sterile" sound and really start to relax, and blossom. I have bought a few of the Rotel pieces new, and they are all "stiff" out of the wrapper, but loosen up quite nicely with a little run time on them. I would be surprised if you will notice much of a change through the 901's, as they are not the worlds most revealing speaks.
          Enjoy.......

            Rotel RB 1080: RMB 1075: or B&k Ref 200.2
            by haiuy
            Hi all,

Just purchased the Rotel RSX-1055 and planning to add separate 2ch or 5ch amp. Im looking to spend $800-1100. I've narrowed down my choices to the Rotel RB 1080 (2x200w $1000), RMB 1075 (5x120w $1000) and B&K Ref 200.2 (2x200w $1300) msrp. I listen to 60/40 music/movies....

            Hiyas everyone.

I found this place about a month ago but I've just been lurking. Finally decided to unmask myself and ask a few questions.. hopefully not too stupid I'll get laughed at.

I recently purchased a RDV-1040 DVD player to go along with my new TV, a Toshiba 34HFX84...

            1 x RMB-1095 vs 3 x RB-1080?

            G'day,

I've currently got an RMB-1095 5x200w amp, about 2 weeks old. For a few hundred dollars, I can trade this in to get 3 x RB-1080 2x200w amps.

I'm wondering about the advantages and disadvantages of such a move.

This is what I've come up with:

            Rotel's RMB-1077 - A Second Look
            by RebelMan
A week ago I took the opportunity to audition Rotel's newest power amplifier member, the RMB-1077. It was a first impression that... well... didn't impress but it didn't unimpress either. This stands to reason as the competition was rather unfair to start with. The results were hardly surprising...

            RMB-1075/RB-1080 or RMB-1095 with B&W 804S?

            Hi,

I'm new to the forums but have been reading for a long time . Well, finally I will order next week a pair of b&w 804S and a HTM3S. I'm keeping my old DM580 for rears and most probably will upgrade them for a pair of 805s in the future.

            I'm trying to decide the...
