    Repairing Rotel equipments

    Hi all, I would like to ask a few question about the rotel service department

    Have anyone send a Rotel equipment for repair before? How long does it takes normally?

    Do Rotel provide international warranty?

    Can I repair my Rotel equipment in UK if i to bought it from US? (example)

    Where can I lodge a complaint about the services they provide?

    I bought a Rotel a few years back and having problem convert it from 115v to 230v, and my local dealer refused to do it for me!! Then it took me months to get it done!! That was 2-3 years back....

    Now I have a spoiled RSX-1056, I have send it back to Rotel, it has been around 6 months now and it's not repaired yet!!

    Please tell me where can i seek help please.

    FYI :- I am living in Malaysia and i bought it from Singapore.

    Just recently, I purchased a pre-owned 110v Rotel RB-981 poweramp fr Hawaii. I conversed via email with George Miller of B&W Group USA about the possibility of converting it to 220V so I conveniently could use it here in Manila.
    Mr. Miller was kind enough to send me a technical manual via pdf to guide in the conversion.
    In our local hifi forum, we have talented DIY guys who can make ss/tube amps, pre-amps & other electrical components - thus I would be asking their help in the conversion.

    While we do have a Rotel dealer in the country, I gathered that they dont do this conversion much - so I'd rather go with our local DIY guys.

      Unfortunately Rotel warranty is limited to the Country from where it was purchased. It is possible that if you imported a product from overseas that your distributor may not want to handle it.

      You could repair equipment in the UK if bought from the US, however it is most likely going to be chargeable.

      For this particular problem you would be best speaking directly with Asia Sound Equipment first, to find out the situation. Then, if they cannot resolve the problem you'll need to email Rotel so that they can put you in contact with Rotel Global. Unfortunately Rotel Europe and Rotel North America would not be in a suitable position to help as this is not their market area, however I'm sure if you keep pressing the situation will get resolved.

        Thanks for the reply.
        I don't mind paying for the parts & labour, I've to told that i'll be charged, the problem is the keep giving me excuses that "Rotel Japan" sent them the wrong pcb (4-5 times already)!!

        I am wondering is it the service department here not able to detect what's wrong or they can't speak japanese.....

            My 1055 was sick, took it to my dealer, he sent it to be inspected by the Classé guys here in Montreal (QC), they decided that the repairs where not in their range so they send it to Rotel's HO in USA (Boston ?)...

            4 weeks later, my RSX-1055 came back with a new digital board, the CPU was resetted, firmware updated to the V2.3.0, all inputs & outputs, amp section & other where tested with "OK", all cleaned up inside & outside.

            When I took it out of the box, I tought it was a new unit!!

            All that was under waranty (ending July 2008 lucky me!!).

            all I can say from a personal point of view, 10/10 for Rotel's Customers services (and my dealer too)...

                Ok, we're not intended to use the equipment for a year or two, we need after sales services!! What's the point if they give you 1 to 1 replacement for the first two years and no service after that !!

                I love Rotel products, I've owned a long list of them, but their After sale service are really bad experience for me. Please improve (if you're reading).
