I picked up my RLC-1040 on Wednesday, plugged in all my equipment to the unit. When I got everything working, first thing I did was put on a record. I'm playing through the RQ-970, and I verified that the switch is set to MM. Before the RLC-1040, I would listen to vinyl at a volume level of around 70. Now, a comparable spl is at around 58. :E I didn't do anything different connection-wise, except for the power conditioner. Don't really notice a similar phenomenon with any other equipment. Weird? Yes. I'm actually very happy about this, because I used to have to listen to the turntable at a much higher volume than CDs, which would cause a startling volume when switching! Now is the RLC-1040 working THAT well, filtering the power coming in so it is that much more efficient?
Interesting issue after hooking up the RLC-1040

by BlazeMasterI looked at the specs on both the RLC1040/1080 and the pictures shows that the RLC1040 has conditioned in/outlet for either phone line or ethernet line. I'm more interested in the conditioning for the ethernet cable, but the specs state that only the RLC1080 has the ability to condition ethernet cables....-

by loupSo I have the rsx-1056 and rmb-1075 coming in about a week from now. I have the polk Lsi15, LisC speakers which are bi-wired. What I'm thinking of doing is hooking the surround to the 1056, the center to the 1075 center channel. I 'm thinking of hooking the fronts like this since its bi-wired. One...-

by KingdaddyI noticed that the more you boost any one speaker setting (Center, Rear, Sub ect.) the less total gain you have available at the master volume. If I boost the Center +2db’s then it will take 2db’s away from the total volume. At 0 level on all speakers I can run the volume up to +4db’s on a DTS...-
