    Help please

I am planning to buy 1 set of rca and 1 set of xlr catcable.
    OK i have got

    RB-1080
    RC-1090

    RCD-1072

    If i connect RC-1090 to RB-1080 using XLR and RC-1090 to rcd-1072
    using rca.
    RCD-1072 doesn't have xlr output.

Will it work or do i have to use both RCA?
Will it make the different if i am using .5 meter?
Will the xlr sound better than RCA?

    1. Yes it will work

    2. Shorter = better (in general)

    3. A true, fully balanced system is quieter.

On question 3. What about cd player to pre amp. Will it still quite?

Should be given Rotel designs for sonics.
I would think they have reasonably quiet noise floors in their cd players.

finally geting around to the wiring end and am wondering what the deal is between balanced XLR vs RCA? What makes one better than the other and what are the real world sonic differences between the two?

          cheers,

I have B&W 804's. Any one have an opinion on XLR versus RCA cables?
I know it has something to do with balanaced versus unbalanced.
          thanks.

          xlr to rca
          by frasse74
          Hi all

i have seen that this subject has been talked about before
but i have some other questions..
If you use a balanced cable from your preamp and have the adapter
on your xlr-cable or is it better to have the adapter on your preamp
          and use a rca cable...
