My new Rotel ROTEL RB-985

I just purchased the Rotel RB-985 for $275. I believe thats an ok deal.

My question is, does any one have suggtions for a two channel amp to partner with this? It will be running 4 ohm 10-150watt surround sound speakers? The rest (center, fronts, rears) of the system is 8 ohm are run by the RB-985.

Also any suggestions for a good cost effictive 7.1 pre amp?

This is my first experience with Rotel, and I hope it will be a good one.

Thank you for the reply. I think the rb-980 will be a good match.
Now to find a good priced 7.1 processor pre-amp.

I guess my interest in my new amp is not exciting to all, but I'm looking forward to a nice 7.1 system.

My 980 is 13 yrs old, and still gets me excited!
It is a ‘Sherman’ tank of amps in my estimation, considering the way I treated it.
Should do V well in an HT application, IMHO.
