    Performance of RSX-1057 vs RB-1070

    Hi all,

I currently have a setup where I power my Elac 209 JET speakers with two RB-1070s in a bi-amp setup. The detail and punch is simply amazing for stereo. For HT I currently use a Yamaha DSP-E800 as addition.

I am not contemplating buying a RSX-1057 to improve my HT quality. However, if I get rid of one 1070 and bi-amp my fronts using 4 channels of the RSX-1057 will that work? I am afraid that the 'downgrade' from 130 to 75W per channel will seriously affect my stereo performance on the Elacs.

Anyone an idea in comparison between the two?

    Thanks,
    Ilko

I do not think you can biamp with the 1057 amps. The amps in the receiver are also not as stout with about 3 db less output at full power and less current into lower impedence loads. Get the 1057 for better sound quality and keep both 1070s for your main speakers is my advice.

certainly going from 130 W to 70 W is vastly de grade in both stereo and HT

        RMB1077 and RSX1057 system
        by bullitt731
I was planning on using an RSX1057 as a processor with an RMB1077 hooked up to a pair of B&W 804s and a HTM3s. Orignally I thought I would biamp and biwire the L and R fronts using 4 channels of the RMB1077 while using the remaining 3 channels to drive the center and back surrounds.

audio quality when using 'zone out' plugs for a preamp on the RSX-1057?

So here's my idea; I have a room dedicated for hometheater with a rotel rsx1057 running a B&W DM300 series surround set.

        I also have an RB-1080, 2 B&W 683's and a rcd-1072 setup with a Rc-1070 in another room.

I'd like to use the 683 in the theater room because...

Remote (RR-1060) no longer working with receiver (RSX-1057)
        by smm735
I recently got a hand-me-down RSX-1057 from my father along with an RR-1060 remote but I am unable to control the RSX-1057 with the RR-1060. Both units were unused (and unpowered) for a couple of years before I started playing with them yesterday.

Before anyone posts it, yes I have...

        Hi Rotelians,
Here is a newbie again probably with a silly question. I live in germany, I got my rotel 1057 over the weekend and set it up with my BW 602's on stereo mode. I owned a yamaha 595 and later a denon AVR-1804 and now I realize what I have been missing. This is a great...

        Rotel 1057 vs Arcam AVR250
        by srusmantijo
        Hi folks,

I'm looking to replace my Denon AVR 3300, which starts giving me intermittent audio problems. I have B&W Nautilus 804 and HTM2, rated at 50-200W. I have seriously considered a Rotel 1057 until I auditioned an Arcam AVR250. 8O

        I have auditioned both Rotel...
