    Bypass volume on 1068

I'm running an Oppo DV970HD thru my RS1068. As of just recently I've noticed that when I'm listening to two channel in the bypass mode I have to turn up the volume level to about 80 to equal what I get at about 65 when running in stereo mode. I've checked all adjustments in the Oppo and can't find anything that would explain it. Anyone else have this issue?

Stereo mode goes through the DSP chip, which even if not using a sub, will alter the sound. Not sure what it does to reduce the volume, but I wouldn't think it is a problem.

Thanks for the response Kevin. I went back and scoured through all the functions on the Oppo and found that the volume level on it had been inadvertently reduced from 20 to 16. Problem solved.

      Thanks,

1068 Bypass mode - speaker level to subwoofer
        by howburger
I've got the 1068/1095 combo and I'm building a stereo pair of Dipole subs with 8 Atlas 15's. I've just recently discovered the sound quality of the bypass mode listening to CD's. Problem is, I really would like to utilize my new Dipole Subs while using bypass mode. Would it work if I used a Y splitter...

        Rotel RC1570 HT bypass mode
        by TimbaLand
I am using Aux1 for HT bypass for Fronts with volume fixed so that when I watch movies volume control is done by processor. Does the RC1570 bypass mode pass through the sound from processor untouched through to power amp? I am asking this because when I read on HT bypass there is two types. One is...

Bypass mode on 1068, bass overkill
        by bleeding ears
Hi guys, has anyone else found that bypass mode on the 1068 processor creates too much bass.

Ok, perhaps its not actually creating the bass but it does allow too much bass thru, a lot of the time.

I find the sound with some cd's to be substantially better in bypass compared...

        Bypass mode for unbalanced inputs?
        by netarc
Just got my C2 a couple of days ago - have a question re: the bypass mode ...

If I understand the manual correctly, the C2's bypass mode *only* works for a balanced analog input??

What, then, if one is running an external DAC (or a good CD player) that only has unbalanced...

        Bypass Mode Question
        by EAmin
I play my RCD-1072 using Bypass mode. I want to get the new RT-1084 and also play it in bypass mode. Is this an available option for me on my RSP-1098?
