Video problem with RSP1098

    Video problem with RSP1098

    Has anyone had or heard of any problems with the video output on a 1098.
    Mine has just started to fade in and out intermittantly. Picture doesnt disappear completely just starts to fade out momentarily and not all the time.
    If I use component cable from DVD direct to screen not a problem. Also used 2 different cables with no change.
    My local shop hasnt heard of any problems in this area.

      There's a chance some settings got defaulted, have you verified the the input the DVD is connected to is still set to PROGRESSIVE? And if you use PAl down there, double-check that setting.

          This could be a possibility Kevin thanks. My kids have been showing an interest in music and I allow them to operate my gear but they dont fully understand the technicalities of its operation, not that i'm a full bottle. Could be they unknowingly changed some settings. Yeh why not blame the kids.
          Guess its out with the manual. Hope its easier the 2nd time round. Had a little trouble the 1st time.

              Can anybody tell me if this is normal..?When I use my sub and use the crossover filter in the RSP1098 the sub makes a popping sound every time the RSP1098 clicks from dolbydigital to 2ch and back, and when I change the input from cd to tuner and other settings?

              Just got my first 2 Rotel components, namely an RSP1098 and an RMB1075.
              Very happy with both, even though they are severely being limited at the moment by my cheap Yamaha speakers which will be replaced with B&W (800 or 700 series) very soon.
