Rotel RSX with HDMI 1.3 anytime soon?

    I have a RSX1056.
I would to upgrade to a receiver with HDMI 1.3 so I could play lossless out of my Blu-ray machine.
Is rotel going to release anything soon?
I am looking at the pioneer VSX92- but would preder to stay with Rotel.

Nope, not a chance anytime soon. The new RSX-1058 will accept all formats after your player has decoded them to high-resolution PCM, so you won't gain much from having 1.3.

      OK
I read so much about HDMI 1.3 being a meaningless market device.
Since this seems to be the case- Should I assume Rotel will never bother releasing a unit that has 1.3?

      I currently own a RSX-1056.
Will I gain much by upgrading to a rsx1058 over my 1056?
I realize I gain the HDMI input but-
Is there an huge overall difference in SQ - between the two?

Not by any means. Rotel needed a new product that had some newer features, but their long R&D time meant that the new product would be delayed by a year or more. So they continued with the product they started designing before HDMI 1.3 came to be. The products that replace the 1069/1058 will certainly have HDMI 1.3 and the new decoders built in.

To me the 1069 sounds better then the 1098 in Pro-logic II and surround modes and just about equal in stereo mode. So by default I would hope the 1058 would sound better then the 1056.

As far as other improvements, do you have an HD-DVD or BR player without multi-channel outputs? Or do you have both an HD-DVD and BR player? The 1058 would allow you to get the decoded better surround sound out of the players and allow multiple players to be connected. The built in scaler will take care of all your other sources and scale them up and out your HDMI cable as well.

          RSX1057 vs. RSX1058
          by unclemick
So in my hopes to find a deal on a 1058 to replace my 1057, I have a question. My 1057 suffers from lack of HDMI not to mention that the HDMI does only video. My question is, can the 1058 accept a component video input, yet output to one of it's HDMI outputs? My 1057 can't and I would love to just...

          HDMI help with AV receiver
          by audioqueso
I'm looking to buy an AV receiver in March, but I'm kinda confused as to whether I would need HDMI.

I was debating Marantz vs Arcam, and even though I never heard an Arcam, I was sold by others to get the Arcam. However, Arcam AVR300/350 doesn't do audio over HDMI or upconvertion of...

          No audio through HDMI (RSX1058)
          by Claw
As you may know through some previous posts, I purchased an RSX-1058 HT receiver. I've been playing around with it for the past few days and have run into some problems.

With my PS3 hooked up directly to my display via the HDMI cable, I'm getting excellent picture and some sound....

How To: Measuring impedance and T/S with ARTA/LIMP
          by Reet
With a simple jig, loudspeaker impedance and T/S parameters can be easily measured with LIMP. The same jig may also be used to measure component value for resistors, capacitors, and inductors, as well as measure transfer functions of passive and active filters.

The setup is quite simple, the following diagram is taken from the LIMP manual:
