Just pulled the trigger on a new RMB-1075 5 channel amp(silver)

my goal is to get rid of all my black pieces of equipment and go all silver(Rotel of course).
My only concern is that I might have wished I had gotten the 1095 or 1098 amp instead. I am hoping this 1075 amp is strong enough to push my Polk LSi9 speakers.

Next purchase. Rotel dvd. I am still evaluating them. Any recommendations or ideas?

I was in the same position earlier this year. I put down a deposit for the 1075 and it drove me crazy over the weekend that I should have gotten the 1095. The dealer let me order the 1095 even though he had received 1075.

With my speakers (B&W FPM4) and I suspect yours (I think you have a built in powered sub), there is not really a big difference between the 2 amps. I bought the 1095 as sort of a what if or when I get bigger speakers (may be a while).

As for the Rotel DVD player, at this point in time I would only buy a used one. I just think that it would be nuts to sink that much money into a non hd or blue ray player. Rotel will have to put one out soon. If you are in a hurry, buy the rotel cd player and an ok HD player. You'll be much better off for the same amount of money.

interesting info. i think i will try the 1075 for a while. If it appears to be struggling too much, I will add a 1080 to the mix and use the 1075 for center and surrounds only.
i agree about the hd dvd. i might even get something like a used Rotel RDV 1040 for around $300-400 bucks. I do have 2 powered sub woofers.

            I did the same thing...

I got a 1057 (new) and a used 1040 on eBay for under 300 bucks. Now I'm (patiently) waiting on Rotel to put out a HD DVD or Blu-ray or (perfect world) combo player... Honestly I'm surprised that they haven't shown or at least announced something as yet. Just this past week we've seen Toshiba HD DVDs sold for $99, certainly even for smaller manufacturers it's not that much of a burden to get into this segment.

              1075 or 1095 amplifier?
              by shuang1234
I auditioned a 1066/1095 setup yesterday and really liked it. The total cost is a bit above my budget. I could reasonably afford a 1066/1075 combination though.

              How much of a difference would I notice between the 1075 (120 W) and 1095 (200 W) amplifiers? I listen to 2-channel music (analog...

              Got my 1095 today
              by hired goon
              G'day,

Finally traded in my RMB-1075 for an RMB-1095. Matched with an RSP-1068 pre/pro and an RCD-1072 CD player.

I was alternating between the 1095, or keeping the 1075 and adding an RB-1080. I chose the 1095 because (a) it's better to have too much power than not enough...

I found this forum about a week ago and I don't know if I should thank you or chastize you for getting me back into the game of "upgraditis". A lot of good information here. Thank you. I apologize in advance for the length of this message. I have looked through a lot of the other threads but...

Which is the better combo - 1066/1095 or 1068/1075
              by RJS72
              Hey all,

I just recently bought an RSX-1067 and RCD-1072 CD player. I'm really loving the sound and enjoying the music right now...at least for the most part. For my main speakers, I have Axiom M80's ti's (excellent speaker btw), which run at 4 ohms. Now the 1067 will physically drive...

              RMB-1095 am I hearing things?
              by PewterTA
Okay, well yesterday I got myself a RMB-1095, I couldn't pass up the price on it and it fit into my budget.

I really had wanted the CineNova Grande 5, but I just couldn't justify the extra money for it, nor could I have lifted that thing by myself to get it into place! HOLY CRAP....
