It is more of a tribute to Rotel and not my knowledge of Rotel products.
So I assume you do not have a correct answer

Well, what are your three amplifiers, and do they trigger in's and out's?

If it's all Rotel stuff with triggers, just run a 1/8" mono cable from the 1066 to amp1, another from amp1 to amp2, and a third from amp2 to amp3.

thanks. i bought one yesterday after i looked up the meaning of trigger cable.
i am using one rotel amp for center channel and two adcoms for fronts and rear speakers. i noticed the adcom has 3 ac outlets so i might as well just plug the other amps in that one and run one trigger cable.

Check those outlets and make sure they are 1: switched and 2: not current limited.

I checked a few Adcom manuals and the ones I could find with outlets on the back had some switched some unswitched and all were current limiting.

I'm helping out a friend that has all Rotel Gear

              Rotel 1066 pre
              Rotel DVDp
Rotel 10?? amp (5x100 Digital) - Main HT
              Rotel 1090 amp (2x200 wpc) - Zone2 2 Ch in MBR

I'm trying to get these to work with the 12v triggers on the 1066 with no luck. I had read a thread here that said that you have to first turn off the Zone2 before the 1066 power off for the triggers to work. I tried this and both amps stay on.

I have Trigger 1 going to the 5x100 amp, Trigger 2 going to the 1090 amp, trigger switches are up/on for each amp. Is there a menu item in the 1066 that I need to flip on? What's the trick to get the 12v triggers on the 1066 to work properly?

I don't think the 1066 had assignable triggers. Both triggers should be active when either zone is on. Keep in mind the the lights on the amps will not go out, even when turned off with a trigger.

If the switches are set to on and you get sound then the plug is getting 12v. You can pull the cables when the system is on to see if the amps turn off.

                  Thanks for the reply.

OK, the way Rotel leaves the light on the Amps for both on and off is very confusing. They could have given us some more visual information IMO. Assignalble triggers would have been nice too, considering the 1066 has a zone2 output.

With triggers plugged in and trigger switches up/on, we get sound, but I have no idea if the amps go off when the 1066 is flipped off due to the blue lights always on. Pulling the trigger wire on the amp while the system is on will tell me if the amp trigger input works, but not if the 1066 trigger switches to off when to pre is turned off.

I'll keep playing with it, but since it's not my gear, I have limited access to the system. I've told him to switch off the 1090 amp manually because it generates most of the heat in the media cabinet.

The power light is just to let you know the power is plugged in and the front switch is on. The red protection lights should flick on briefly when turning off or on (My 1077 does it both on and off). Assignable triggers were added to the 1068+.

                      Hi,
I have an option of buying an RSP1066 or an RSP1068, the different in price is about $400. Can someone give me an opinion on whether it is worth the extra of $400 to get the RSP1068. I am currently using a Denon 3803 as a pre/processor and the RMB1075. Will this upgrade to the Rotel RSP1066...

                      Hello,
When I connect my sub to de sub-out I have no sound out my subwoofer. It seems dead. I have my front's set to small, subwoofer to Yes in the menu.

The sub works fine on my old receiver, but on the rsp1066 it will not work.
