    RSP-1068 RCA Signal Cutting Out

    Good evening,
I have a Rotel RSP-1068 which is about a year old and just recently has been losing signal to the front left speaker. To fix the problem all I have to do is jostle the cable a bit near the back of the RSP-1068 and the signal comes back but I have to position it just right... if I bump it ever so slightly I will lose signal again.

I have tried switching cables but that did not help. Any ideas? Is something loose inside the unit? Is there an easy fix or do I have to send it into Rotel?

    Thanks,
    Bryan

As long as you've swapped the left/right cables and made sure the problem moves speakers as well (to rule out the amp).

It's probably an easy fix if you can solder, but most likely not something you would want to tackle. Rotel's new policy is to replace any unit that shows a problem within the first year with a new unit. How close to one year are you?

It sounds like a simple solder joint issue that any good electronics repair shop could handle. I'm sure if you called Rotel and explained the situation you could probably get it repaired as warranty.

I have/had the same problem. This is one area where i do believe Rotel did slip up. I popped the cover off my RSP1068 and was quite shocked to see how flimsy and unsupported the RCA output board was compared to other manufacturers. It does not have enough screws to prevent board flex. Resulting in cracks on the fiberglass board. Other than that no complaints.

I thought I would write a quick review of my exeprience with this unit. By no means is will this cover everything, but if there are any questions on how the unit functions, please don't hesitate to post here and I will try to find out.

            1066 Signal Delay mysteries
            by jprzybylski
To keep everyone interested in the signal-delay problems that burden the RSP-1066, here is an update.

I have contacted Rotel with specific information regarding when and how the signal delay happens and they are looking into it.

I did find this quick-fix. Whenever I play...

high frequency noise / hiss, RSP1068
            by torgelow2005
I'm using the RSO 1068 + RMB 1075 and I'm not satisfied with the noise behavior!

I'm not talking about white or pink noise from the power amp but about a high frequency signal (kHz range, like
tinnitus) mainly from the rear speaker.

I only hear this noise when...

            RSP1068 problem
            by wywong
Hi, my 4 yrs old rotel rsp1068/rmb1075 suddenly drop the right front channel yesterday. I switch the RSP1068 pre-out right and left front connection and the problem will move from right to left. So it definitely mean it is not a cable or rmb1075 amp issue. I try power cycle, unplug the power and wait,...
