RMB-1095 on 15 amps

Has anyone not changed their breakers and in wall wiring to accomodate the RMB-1095?

Any problems?

It uses 1200 watts according to the spec and when you add in the tv, xbox and everything else you get close to the 15 Amps my breaker and wires are rated at. If you have the volume only half way does the amp use less watts?

These are the numbers I'm using.
xbox-185 tv-205 200w amp-1200 prepro-40

That's 1630 of my 1800 watts on 120 volts.

That's max wattage I believe, full tilt all channels driven. Typical consumption (and what's labeled on the back of the unit) is 800 watts.

You'll be fine on one circuit.

I don't the the rmb-1095 will use 1200watts at normal volumes. You really have to push it hard to reach 1200w.

I would guess that, unless you like bleeding ears, the amp will draw far less than 1200 W at surprisingly loud volumes. In my 2-ch system, all components (pre, amp, cd, tuner) draw ~60 W total at what I'm sure my neighbours find to be an annoying volume.

I got the value using one of those Canadian Tire in-line power meters. It was definitely an eye-opener when I tested my system.

My whole system in 5.1 at very loud volume has been measured at <500W, even if the sum of what's written on electronics is above 2000W.

So don't worry.

Hello, I got all my HT hooked on a ROTEL RLC-1040 line conditionner on a 15 amp circuit. I got the RMB-1075 and RB-1080 to drive 6 speakers and 1 sub. At verry loud volume, the RLC does not indicate any electrical supply problem.

But I must tell that I am in the process to add 2 new subs on my system to replace an old small one. Maybe I will reach the limit ? I will let you know...
