Don't need all the newest, greatest whatever. Just a well made minimalist 5.1 processor. XLR to connect to the RMB1095, No video inputs/outputs/passthrough. No HDMI. Coax/optical inputs, and analog inputs for cd, DVD, other. That's it. Just decode everything 5.1.
All this new is adding cost for something I'll probably never use. Keep it in the linup since the majority want it, but there should also be an anchor processor for the rest of us.
I assume I'm in the minority on this but if not please let me know.RDV-1045 - RMB-1075 - RSP-1069 - RCD-1072 - CM7 - CM1 - ASW 608- Bottom

My 2002 RSX-1055 has most of those features. For me to upgrade, I want HDMI switching (I have 4 HDMI sources and my TV has only 2 HDMI inputs), 1080P bandwidth, and OSD over HDMI that in addition to set-up shows: volume, mute, source selection and audio format.Originally posted by RedhawkDon't need all the newest, greatest whatever. You will probably never see balanced outputs on a Rotel SSP. Aside from their two channel stuff, all balanced outputs/inputs they have are not truly balanced. They immediately get converted to un-balanced. So you would see absolutely no improvement using the balanced inputs on your 1095, it's just a different plug as far as its concerned.
So for them to see a benefit on adding XLR's, they would have to redesign their amps.

I have been waiting for a 1058 to arrive at my local San Diego dealer so I can see it for myself, and they are now here.
In the past two years I have bought 2 different HDMI receivers from Circuit City that I returned within 1 day as they did not fulfill my requirements of OSD via HDMI (Onkyo SR775) or were incompatible with HDCP (an earlier HDMI receiver, brand forgotten).
Also, I am very spoiled by my RSX-1055. The sound is wonderful, the build quality top notch and I must say the aesthetics of the unit is outstanding.
I plan on demo-ing the 1058 as soon as practable.- Bottom

I just installed a set of 685s for fronts, a HTM61 center and a pair of in-ceiling CWM 800s for rears for my home theater. They are good.Originally posted by RedhawkDoes the 1058 have balanced outputs?
edit**Never mind, I'm an idiot. But I did place my order today for a pair of CM7's, and the CM Center. Can't wait.- Bottom

by JustinGNI know this is one of those "Ask 100 people the same question, and you'll get 100 different answers" threads, but I am curious as to the input of the denizens here with regards to AVR and Processor recommendations. I've been doing research for a while, since my poor Denon Receiver is just...-

by JonMarshWhen I got the email with Trond-Erik's new Pro-Pro, something about that rang a bell. The bell was related to an AV Forums post by a guy with high sensitivity speakers comparing the Benchmark AHB2 amplifier and the M22 and some other amplifiers. One of his bugaboos was output noise, and noise that could...-
