    Problem with RSX-1055 ???

    RSX-1055 won't power up ?

Yesterday I watched Zodiac (7/10, sound was mediocre) everything seems OK...

Today my son wanted to play with his Gamecube and called me at work to tell me the Rotel will not power up ??

I tell him do this...do that...nothing works over the phone...I told myself that he must have tried someting or press a button and I cannot figure out, so I told him I will check it when I get home...

I arrive at home and as he was saying, the Rotel won't power up ?? Here what it does, when I press the "ON" button on the remote to get out of the standby mode, a "pluck" occurs in the speaker immediately (½ sec) followed by a speaker "hum", a click in the Rotel then it goes back on "Standby"...

I never had any problems with my older set up...

now I have a new set up with a 56" TV...I added a Belkin PureAV line conditionner to protect the TV and other electronics, The rotel is connected in the "delay switched" outlet made for power amps or receiver from the PureAV...I was wondering that maybe the Belkin was bad...but I connected the Rotel direct in the wall...same thing !...

    It won't power up ???

    any clues ?

go to the switch on the back and turn off then on again. It will put back on standby and it should power back on.

The 1055 didn't have a switch in the back, but unplugging the cord and plugging straight into the wall accomplished the same thing.

Sounds like something wrong in the amplifier or power circuit. Have you tried removing the speaker connections just to make sure the receiver isn't going into protection mode from a bad speaker/wire?

I doubt it,i have one also.My 1056 after i think was either a surge or spike would not power back on even though the stanby light was on.Had to switch off in the back and turn back on.It would do this every so often about 1 every 1-2 mos.I then picked up a pureav about 2 yrs ago and it's only happened once since.

do you connect it in the switched delayed hi-current "Amp" inlet or in the switched "Receiver" inlet ?

to be honest i believe it's on the reciever outlet. The delayed outlets if iremember correctly have to be set.I havent even loooked at the back since i installed it.When and if i add an amp that doesnt have a 12v trigger i'll try the delayed outlets. All i did was install and connect everything to the outlets and didnt even bother with setting any delay.

Well the « problem » came back!!

So I decided that, since my 5 years warranty ends in July, I will get it checked. So I brought it to my dealer last Friday…

He will get it to the Classé shop here in Lachine (Québec), and from there they will determine if the can repair or if they have to send it to Rotel’s HO in USA (Boston??)…

I’m in the wait for the call of my dealer…7-10 days if Classé can repair it and a month or more if it has to be sent to the Rotel HO for dome major repair!!!

Actually does anyone knows what are the (repairs) options ??

Rotel RSX-1560 will not power on
                      by Kai
I have a Rotel RSX-1560 that won't power on. I plug it in and turn on the master switch in back (and smile to myself as the light in the room flicker) and the unit appears to come on in standby mode (power light surrounding the soft button on the front is lit). But when I hit the power button on front...

This unit has been in service for quite a few years, but recently I've been turning it off via the rocker switch on the rear panel. Just yesterday, only the blue stanby light on the front lights up. The soft on/off switch will no longer turn on the display, nor do anything else. Nor does it respond...

                      Hey all,

I have a Rotel RSP976, have had it for about 10 years, worked OK until last week, and this weekend wound't turn on. I have 0 technical knowledge about electronics, Rotel guys said they may not have parts even if I sent it in, but they will look at it for free. Some used units...

                      standby or power off?
                      by Razvan
I was wondering if you guys leave your RDC-7 on standby or you power it off? Is it better for the unit to be left on standby?
