    Hi,
I want buy a new SSP processor.

the 1098 (or the next 1099??) is better in tecnologie too or is only a 1068
    with a display ???
I have all from Rotel (Ampli) and a new rotel will be better sure for the look,
but I don't need a good look. I search a SSP for a future nwe ampli with
    XLR/....

    Please replay.

    Omar,

The 1098 is totally different than the 1068. The TFT is the most obvious, but also the 1098 has 3 power supplies and has a modular design.

Also the 1098 has more component and digital inputs. The analogue section sounds more clean and is a class above te 1068. Although the 1068 is very good, the 1098 sounds better.

the 1098 has no XLR outputs.

But then the questions is, is it worth the 1500 Euro extra. If Stereo or 5.1 high res sound is important to you (I suppose it is) the 1098 is the best choice. I would say as far as DD/DTS the difference is there, but less obvious.

For twice the price, the 1098 gives you no where near that much of an improvement over the 1068. Both of them are old in the tooth and ready for replacement by new models so I would wait.

          SSP upgrade

          Hoi,

the 1098 or better waiting the new comer (109x?) will be a good solution
          BUT
if I go buy a all new ampli (like Mcintosh/Electrocompaniet/..) the 1068 or too the 1098 is not a VERY solution. Or?

          At today I drive my B&W803 with Rotel 1068 + 2xRB1092(front and rear) plus a RB1091 for the center...--> ex. I go buy a 2 channel Mc252. I can drive
          all with the 1068without problem?

The XLR is really a good output?
("normal" cinch lose much in quality vs. XLR?)
          Met vreundliche Groeten Omar

            1098, 1068,1067, & 1056 owners, need you to test a bug.
            by Kevin D
I've found a DTS bug on a 1068 I was installing the other day. I recreated it on our store 1068, and even my home 1098. Rotel is looking into it, but I'm not sure how seriously. As people have time, if you could do a test for me I would appreciate it.

In case anyone hasn't seen this link, I thought I'd jot it down here. I also thought it might provide for some fresh ideas/discussion on additional wish list items for our own Rotel 1098/1068 etc products ...

            Hi,

As promised, HERE is V4.0 of the "Wish-list" for the Rotel RSP-1098 (Updated Sunday 7 March 2004).

            Some key points:
            • It now incorporates the RSP-1068 and the RSX-1067, with the latest version of firmware for these.
            • It has been updated to reflect the capabilities

            by BlueSander
I have my eyes on the SSP-300 lately since there is a really good deal I might be able to get my hand on. Do you think it's worth the upgrade? :P

            RSP 1098/1068 and HDTV
            by lsolimine
Good day. I am ugrading from my RSP-985, due to its lack of component inputs/output and my television only having one component input, in order to take advantage of Comcast adding HDTV in my area. Has anyone had any problems or issues with either the 1098 or 1068 and HDTV? Thank you.
