    Sound levels with different amps

    Hi,
    I have a RSP-1068 and two RB-976 amps (... so that's 2 x 6 x 60 watts). I currently bi-amp the full front stage just because I have so many channels available.
I would really like to get a RB-1080 for stereo listening, but I don't want to fork out the cash for a RMB-1095 as well. Will I still be able to set the levels correctly for home theatre using the 1080 for L+R and the 976 for the other 5 speakers (7.1 setup)? ... or must I at leasat pair it with a RMB-1075? ... or am I gonna have to get a 1095 as well? Quality when listening to classical music is important to me ... home cinema noise not that much ... but I also enjoy my multi channel DVD-A's. I have KEF Q/iQ speakers all round with Q7's as the mains.
One of the RB-976's will move to a secondary system pre-amped by a RSP-966 and for a secondary system that will really be good enough for me.
    Thank you
    Hendrik

The 1068 has enough adjustment on the output gain to cover any small differences in the input stages. The difference in power doesn't really equate to a difference in loudness.

    You should be fine!

But depending on the speakers he's driving, it could affect the lower frequencies as they typically require more power.

TYR is probably pretty safe with a RB-1080 . Not many speakers that puppy won't drive!

            Will RSX-1056 improve with a RB976 amp and does rsx1056 = rsp1066
            by mike.g
            I have a RB976 6 channel amp
            http://europe.rotel.com/support/pdfs/manuals/Rb976.pdf

It drives my M&K k17's and K4's all of which are rated at 4 ohm.

The amp's specs are rated at 4 ohm and it is very clear the amp should and can drive 4 ohm speakers on all channels....

            Wanted: RB976 Mk II manual
            by GDEvans
I hope somebody can help me. I have recently purchased a second hand RB976 Mk II, but it came without a manual.

I emailed Rotel and they sent me a pdf of the original manual (same as on their website) claiming it was the latest version.

Is anybody out there kind enough...

            rb976 : rb956ax : Link inputs
            by dcluley
On the rb976 one can link the inputs to all 3 stereo channels via a switch, yet on the rb956ax there is not that ability. If one were to make a 3 headed "Y" cable and plug the preamp out into all 3 channels on the rb956 - would that not act the same as the "switch"? Except opening...

            secondary system - analogue
            by miner
Well, I finally have set up my analogue secondary system. I am using my first amp/pre - a Rotel RC-1070 and RB-1070. My source is a Rega P7 with Dynavector 20XH. The speakers are Dynaudio Audience 52SE and Sub 20A. Have yet to critically listen to it. The cabinet I will be using is an Ethan Allen...

Question: Auto-calibrated speaker levels on the C2?
            by jprafter
When I let the C2 auto-calibrate my speaker levels, it calculates all negative values. This may be because the room is small but I'm not sure. (other’s experience?) It is my understanding that the level adjustment is to bring the 7 speakers and sub to the same RELATIVE levels that the original soundtrack...
