RSX-1067 spitting static out of RR CH...

Out of thre blue I've got static and scratching sounds from the RR channel.

Best part is that you don't even need to be in a mutli-channel mode. That's right - it even spits static when 2-channel bypass is selected.

In multi-channel the RR output is reduced and the noise is constant. Bypass treats you to the occasional blast of static - loud enough to make everyone jump.

Speaker checked fine on other channels and no rodents have chewed through the wires.

    Anyone have a similar experience?

My dealer said to bring it in so they can ship it away. How long am I going to be without a system? How does Rotel determine when to repair or when to replace?

The unit also has a major popping issue (Lft Main only) - pops every time a new source is selected or reaquired. Digital or Analog....it's not picky.
    Don't touch that wire...

Both issues point to a bad digital board. Most repairs are only at Rotel for 1-2 weeks, add shipping times to that.

That said, if the unit is less then a year old and you are in North America, Rotel's new policy is an immediate brand new replacement once your dealer verifies the problem.

My centre channel was wired perfectly for 2 years on my RSP1068. Then all of a sudden there was some major static. Then no sound. I thought for certain it was a cabling issue. Re did the connections and the problem went away.

Then I bought and hooked up my rear speakers. The rear left was great, and died within 20 minutes of use. Dealer and rotel diagnosed it as a bad DSP board. Before I could send it in the centre finally died.

They fixed it within 3 weeks and had promised 4 weeks. Everything is good. Hopefully, they have reviewed their DSP manufacturing process as this seems to be the number one issue. Bad QA is expensive and must really eat into the margins. However, my faith is temporarily restored and hopefully now I will get trouble free enjoyment.

Upgrading from B&K AVR307 to RSX1067 worth it?
        by Dmantis
        Ok,
Let me start out by saying I loved the rsx1065 and the combo of the rsp1066 and rmb1075. I own a B&K avr307 and thinking of coming back to Rotel. The rsx1067 caught my eye as did the rsp1067. Seperates would be the way to go a but the rsx1067 is so good in my opnion that I would consider...

Static / Popping from PC Speakers

I have a Dell Dimension XPS R400 with an Altec Lansing ACS Dolby Pro-Logic Speaker System, which has a small subwoofer and two desktop surround type speakers. I cannot leave the speakers turned up because of an annoying popping / static sound that comes from them all the time. I've had this system a...

        rsx1067 vs rsp1068/rb993/rb985mkII
        by JRambo
Hi, I recently read in a home-theater magazine that the Rotel rsx1067 was their first choice in the heavy-receiver class.. How will this receiver compare to a setup with rsp1068, rb993 and rb985mkII, when it comes to sound quality, as the price for these two setups will be about the same..

Problem playing 5.1 with AT2 on Rotel RSX1067
        by BW4me
I'm using the optical output from my Apple TV 2 for the audio connection to my RSX1067. I have never been able to get sub audio with 5.1 movies played from netflix or iTunes rentals. The same audio input on my rotel will play 5.1 from DVD or BD player. I can also play 5 channel audio from iTunes library...

Getting static sound from right channel with Rotel RA1062/RCD1072
        by NicholasT
I just purchased a Rotel RA-1062 integrated amp with the RCD-1072 CD player. I connected them to a pair of Pennaudio Rebel 2 speakers with Audioquest Type 4 speaker cable. I have all the components connected to a PS Audio Juice Bar outlet. I played a some CDs on the first day and it seemed to be...
