    Rotel RC-1070/RB-1080 vs. Bryston B100 SST

    Has anyone had any experience with this Rotel combo and comparied it to the Bryston B100 SST integrated. I have read a lot of reviews on the bryston and currently own the rotel set up. I do not have a Bryston dealer around here. Fronm the reviews I have read for the price the Bryson can not be beat and I know it is more expensive than the Rotel combo, but is it worth the additional cost. Any help is appreciated.

      Can you tell us what you are looking to gain with the Bryston?

      If you are looking for a dramatic increase in sound quality, I think you'll be disapointed. Although I have not heard the B100sst, I've compared comparable or better amps to Rotel gear in my system at home.

      You can search my name for a recent post on this and also search this forum for 'victor' as he has voiced his opinion on this issue and used to do design work for Bryston.

          i personally dont think bryston is any better than rotel i think bryston is over priced but if you got extra money to blow go for byston as it jus a tad better but if u are on a budget go for the rotel equipment just my opinion.

                  I own couple of Rotels and extensively auditioned different Brystons.
                  I considered upgrading from my Rotel stuff to Bryston amps 10 months ago. I auditioned the SST amps 3B, 4B, and 14B. The 3B sounded very metallic and literally quite annoying. The 4B sounded more like it and was very close to my Rotel RMB 1075. The 14B was by far the best sounding amp, but I can't justify the price tag compared to my Rotels. I also auditioned their processors and felt the same... The RSP-1098 paired with an RMB-1075 drive my Piegas beautifully. Might upgrade to some more wattage, but will stick to Rotel.

                      I would really appreciate your thoughts on the Bryston 3 SST power amp. I was previously considering the Rotel RB-1080 with the Paradigm Studio 100s. But the Bryston was so much more musical & less fatiguing than the Rotel that I might be willing to pay the extra $1.5K.

                      Need help!
                      My RMB1075 is driving my Sur, Front and Center and RB1050 drives back Sur. my fronts are CDM9NT. I do run 7.1 setup for HT and stereo for music, I have noticed that my 9NTs don't have allot of life in stereo mode. Spoke to my Rotel dealer and he agrees that 9NTs require more power....

                      Have decided on one of these two 5 channel amps. Bryston will cost me 50% more than the Rotel. Do I spend the extra money on the Bryston ? How much more of an amp is the Bryston than the Rotel 1095 ?

                      I did find for good deal localy for Bryston 4B-SST, couple of hours ago recieved and my 804S are singing like never thought they would :B , I just love it.
                      They are little on the bright side, but still love it, WOW. I'm going back to enjoy them little more bofor my 1year old son goes to bed...
