    problem with RSP1098

    I have my 1098 for 2 years and now its been about 1 moth it started acting up on me, like cuts the sound off and I have to turn it off and then on again
    then sound comes back again ,,,, help anybody

      All sources? Does switching inputs and back get sound back?

      Do you have anything connected to the multi-inputs? If so, the next time it goes out switch to it and see if you have sound.

          Is there any signal being passed through to the speakers when this occur? I.e. extremely inaudible level, but still sound being transfered?

              problem with RSP1098

              this happens in any sound mode and no I do not have the multi-inputs
              but I will try your sujestion (thanks Kevin) .
              PhotoRobot no (I.e. extremely inaudible level) no sound at all.....

                  If the mutli-inputs still produce sound when all other inputs don't, chances are your DSP board is going out.

                      Well I have both the RSP1098 and C1 side by side and I have had the C1 a full week and have played CD, DVD, Satellite TV's and am ready to give a general comparison of strengths and weaknesses.

                      COMPARING the CD source in Stereo the sound on the Halo was was much richer than the Rotel....

                      Can anybody tell me if this is normal..?When I use my sub and use the crossover filter in the RSP1098 the sub makes a popping sound every time the RSP1098 clicks from dolbydigital to 2ch and back, and when I change the input from cd to tuner and other settings?

                      Just got my first 2 Rotel components, namely an RSP1098 and an RMB1075.
                      Very happy with both, even though they are severely being limited at the moment by my cheap Yamaha speakers which will be replaced with B&W (800 or 700 series) very soon.
                      Only 1 thing i can't get to work, the speaker...

                      Sound improvement of RSP 1098 follower?

                      I use RSP 1098 for HT and have been very satisfied with it!! But I´m thinking about an upgrade and have following question:
                      Can we expect a sound improvement from the RSP1098 follower or does it only have a few additional features??
                      Does anybody know more about it?
