Rotel RSP 1068 now 4.1 system PLEASE HELP!

I hope anyone with some insight can make some suggestions.

I have been using an RSP1068 and RMB1075 for about 2.5 years with B&W Nautilus 804N and a centre HTM2.

I recently purchased some N805S and spent the better part of two days cleaning up my system and hooking them up. When balancing and configuring with an SPL meter everything functioned fine and I balanced it all to reference level.

After settling down, I noticed my REAR LEFT speaker was barely outputting a signal.
    a) Checked speaker cabling <CHECK> Still No Sound
    b) Checked amplifier channel (switched left and right) problem moved
to RIGHT channel speaker which was working and LEFT stopped functioning properly.
    c) Changed amplifier-pre pro transparent interconnect on rear left/rear right. No difference.
    d) Swapper Rear Left with Rear Right on Pre-Pro. Problem transfers from REAR LEFT to REAR RIGHT.

There is a signal, one being very faint, being sent by the pre-pro to the rear left channel. The channel is sent to +2DB.

Also, I have tried different sources, DVD player, Cable box, Xbox 360. All with the same result. I've isolated it back to the pre-pro.

Any clues as to what is going on?!?! Totally baffled. Considering it did work when it was wired up because I measured it with the SPL meter.

    Crazy!

    Thanks in advance,

Could be a bad DSP board. Have you tried unplugging it for a few minutes to do a reset?

You might want to check all connections. Recheck all settings. If that works to no avail, then it's time to send your Pre/Pro to your dealer.

I had a similar issue, and for whatever reason, compeltely disconnecting and reconnecting everything fixed it, so at least give that a go.

Thanks for the replies. I did re-connect all cables with no luck. It looks like the unit has to go in for service after talking to my dealer. So i'll have to prepare myself for 3 weeks without any sound.

          I did re-check all settings.

Kind of a shame. Second problem with the rotel unit, and it was probably there all along waiting for me to buy my 805's.

          Thanks all,

RSP-1068 Rear Right Channel Not Working When Digitally Processed
            by bnieman
I am about to contact Rotel but I thought I would check here first.

The rear right channel on my Dad's RSP-1068 is not working when listening to anything that is being digitally processed. This includes Dolby Digital 5.1, 5 Channel Stereo, or Dolby Pro Logic II. Even the test tone does...

I have an RSP 1068 hooked up to an RMB 1066. Both have been in storage for 4 or 5 years and have just been brought into use today. I am currently using generic in-wall style speaker cables while I await my order from Morrow. I am connected to a pair of MAD 1920S speakers and a REL t7 sub, listening...

I sent this message recently to Rotel Support Europe (no answer yet), but it seems interesting to me to post it on this forum too:

Two weeks ago I bought a new Rotel combination consisting the RC-1550 and the RB-1552. I'm very pleased with the overall sound quality, but today I noticed...

            Deciding on center channel
            by subynube
I will have a 5.1 home theater set up. I am currently building the NatP's mtm design with the dayton reference mid and aluminum tweet. I need a center channel. I have a few options.

            1. Could just build a 3rd NatP and lay it horozintally. It is a perfect match to the right and left channel...

I have a pair of B&W DS6 Dipole Surrounds which the instructions say are "handed' left and right (it really does).
The instructions go on to identify the correct placement by referring to the terminals in the rear of the cabinet.

            Unfortunately, the speakers were removed...
