RSP-1098 able to process Dolby Digital plus?

    Guys,

I just bought a HD-DVD player which is capable of outputting a new audio format: Dolby Digital plus.

Is the RSP-1098 capable of processing this sound format (e.g. after a firmware upgrade) or do I have to buy a complete new sound processor for this? If the latter is applicable, do you know when Rotel is introducing a new sound processor?

I hope you already have some experience with this issue;-)

    Regards,
    Angelo

The 1098 does not processes it.

Depending on which HD DVD player you bought you can have the HD DVD player decode it and send it to the 1098 via analog outputs. Its worth while doing.

As for when rotel is releasing a model which can decode the next gen formats your guess is as good as mine. 1 year? 2 maybe?

I just wanted to throw this question out there:

      Here's information on DTS-HD with a...
