    Anyone got their RVE-1060 yet?

I am just wondering if you did get it, and what are your thoughts on it? Does the picture quality look much better? Is it worth the money? The reason i am asking is because my dealer won't be getting them in. They will just order them for you. So i have no way of seeing the difference my self on regular DVD player like the RDV 1045. Any feed back would be great.

    Cheers,

I haven't had it set up long enough to comment yet, but I can say if you have a TV with a 720p or 1080i native resolution, the inputs on the 1060 are enough for you, and you own a Rotel pre/pro; this is the coolest and easiest scaler you could buy.

Like I thought (and now know), this is not a tweakers scaler nor is it designed to be the answer for everyone. As far integrating though hows this:

No trigger or power concerns, it follows when the pre-pro is on or off
Scaler follows the pre-pro for selecting video 1-5.
On screen menu is set to an unused input. Switches to this input only when it knows you're in the OSD.

One thing to know is it follows strictly to Macrovision, so any DVD that has the newer macrovision codes on it will not be able to be scaled. It will default to 480p.

Good news is the 1058 shares the same scaler chip and a recent test model of it scaled to 1080p. So chances are we'll see an update for the RVE-1060.

Re-reading my message, let me clarify.

It won't scale macrovision DVD's to 1080i out the component connections. It will send it out HDCP HDMI. Hence why I'm looking for an HDCP compliant adpter that's compatible.

        Thanks for the feed back,

I know that Most high-definition content is protected by HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). Keep us posted with your findings with the adapter. I really would like to know which adapter you end up with and how it performs.

        Thanks,

          Misterdoggy and others,

I know that I should be posting this elsewhere, but you guys just seem sooo knowledgeable here!

Just had a quick operational question about your video scaler. I'm seriously considering one of these to plug into my HT and I'm wondering how do...

New Rotel DVD Player and Scaler
          by bullitt731
I spoke to my local AD today after noticing Rotel had added a new DVD player to their website. Apparently they feel this will be used as a 480i transport to mate with their new 1080i scaler. I was told the DVD player is priced at $499, and the scaler will be $1,199. My primary question to my AD was...

RVE 1060 Video Scaler worth investing?
          by sarsi
I saw RVE 1060 video scaler (but only up to 1080i and only with 1 HDMI output) at my dealer place, I was wondering whether is it worth investing to enhance and renew to my RSP1098 (which I absolute adore)?

Apparently, it can fully integrated with RSP1098 via the RS232 ports between the...
