    RSX-1055 use of channels

    Hi folks,

I use the RSX-1055 for music - 2 channels. This integrated has 5 channels (75W each). I would like to be able to use the other 3 channels for music - maybe in a different room. Is this possible? If this is not possible, what are my options to be able to run multiple zones without buying another amp?

    thanks

To use zone 2 function, you will have to buy another amp which can be had at a good price used.

The only thing I can think of if you don't want to buy another amp is to use the multi-inputs. You could run the coax out from your CD player to use for stereo R,L in your main room. Then you could connect your CD player analog out to the two rear channels of the multi-input.Connect your 2nd room speakers to the rear channel outputs. Only drawback of this is that you can't play both at once and of course, no 5.1 for your main room - no big deal in your case.

I would try to get a second amp, it is more flexible. Try audiogon, you can get a small 2 ch amp for very little if you look around. There is an older Rotel rb-850 on Audiogon, a great little amp. He is asking $195 - make him an offer? You could also look at some of the pro amps which are also very inexpensive - some of the sell for $200-300 new so used pricing should be good.

True, you can use the multi-inputs in combination with the record out and zone out to get two zones of audio from a 1055. Of course after the amount of work to get it setup, you'll wish you just bought an amp.

Thanks both. I am really looking for a cheap amp to power some outdoor speakers on my deck. Will something like this work? Its about $100 online.

Use that model all the time for multi-room systems. Should run a pair of outdoors with ease.

I'm having a tough time finding a quality crossover to filter the full range line-level signal from my receiver's pre-outs prior to running them through a separate 2-channel amp (NAD C370) to power the 2nd set of subwoofer voice coils on my Gallo Reference 3's. Guess I'll just have to wait for the Gallo...

I have a 1066 pre/pro and 1075 amp that are temporarily driving a pure 2 channel system with Paradigm Studio 100v.3. Since I have some spare channels on the amp, I thought I would play around with bi-amping the 100s to see if it made any difference. My question is how do i get the front L/R signal...

              Hi,

Im in the process of purchasing a RMB-1095 for my B&W 803D and HTM2D. Was wondering if I could bi-amp the fronts with the spare 2 channels.

As the amp doesn't support this, I was thinking of using a RCA from my processor and splits into 2 plugs, providing the ability...
