I now have a Rotel RC 1070 preamp. Wonder if the RC 1090 would be a step up as far as quality of sound is concerned.? Just recently got an Anthem MCA20. Am very pleased with it. JNorth1178

I replaced my RC-1070 with a RC-1090 last year (last one at my dealer - paid $800). I noticed an improvement in soundstage and presence. I consider myself an pseudo-audiophile so I am not too 'happy' to see a bass and treble control on the new 1082Comment

I just picked up a RC1090 from Audiogon, the unit is in excellent condition and sounds very nice. I had an RC1070 before which always seemed a bit bright to me, the RC1090 is very smooth.
Anyway the one small downer on the deal is that the seller failed to mention... -

I just wanted to give a few comments on the RC-1082 that I obtained recently. I moved my RC-1070 to my bedroom system and replaced it with an RC-1082 in the main system.

Attached are pictures of the spec sheet for the new RC-1082 stereo pre-amp. Unfortunately they were not able to add a HT bypass to the unit.
If you are upset they didn't add HT bypass, please call Rotel directly and tell them. Please don't clutter the forum posting how you're not going...
