    Problem with my RB1090

I am quite bummed right now and am looking for a bit of help. It seems that I have lost the right channel on my RB-1090 amplifier. The left channel works just fine. I've swapped out sources and have verified that the amplifier is the problem.

So, what am I in for here? Is there a fuse that might have blown? If not, am I looking at hundreds of dollars in repairs? I am just trying to get a ballpark idea of what is going on here.

    Thanks for the help!

It's most likely just a fuse (inside the amp). This isn't a common issue on the 1090 so I would be sure to check your cables and speakers before running it again.

If it's not a fuse, the amp does come with a 5 year warranty.

I recently biwired my speakers. Additionally, I have a separate integrated amp for 2-ch listening. If the RB-1090 was fired up with the speaker cable on the floor, is it possible that the hot and ground wires touched and caused a fuse to blow?

That could definitely cause the problem. It should go into protection mode, but if it was shorted during the initial turn on there's a greater chance of blowing.

I've got the cover off but cannot see where a fuse might be located. Anyone have any experience with this particular amp?

            Another RB 1080 Problem
            by DrJRapp
I've had my 1080 about two months now, and while for over a year I've read here about people with left channel fuse problems, I believed (or at least wanted to believe), that it was a problem affecting only a few units. Last night my left channel stopped functioning. So, it appears the problem is more...

            CAP2100 standby-powersupply problem
            by pianorob
            Hi,

I have a CAp2100 since November. Sound is great, but I have problem with the fuse of the standby-power supply and would like to ask whether anyone had similar problems:

when I switch off the power button, then disconnect the power cord (e.g. to
            replace it with...

            RB-991 keeps blowing main fuse
            by kingwilliam
            Hi all...

The problem: My RB-991 blew its main 12-amp fuse the other day (the fuse you can easily change from the back). I tried 10-amp fuses, but blew three in a row. No other components or speakers were hooked up to the amp. I unplugged the amp from the wall before swapping fuses....

RB-1080 no sound on left channel
            by tomasito
            Hello,
I m new to the forum. But I had my RB-1080 for 3 years now. Last night, I notice that the left channel has no sound.
I had this issue before earlier in the year. Rotel told me to check the fuse of the left channel. It was blown, and I replace the fuse. It fix the problem.

Problem with warranty and local dealer
            by theMaximus
I took my RB-1070 to my local dealer with my original receipt from another dealer in New York, where I bought my equipment before moving to where I am now. My current local Rotel dealer told me that they would only handle warranty works for equipment bought from them. They told me to ship it to my...
