Just got my RLC-1040 hooked up

Picked up my RLC-1040 over the weekend and added to my system. Super simple to hook up and looks great.
Sound? I sense a tighter sound..I feel it has improved the sound a little.
Video? More noticable improvement. I have the HD Cable box running through the 1040..has eliminated any "mosquito" noise and the detail is more solid (in HD)
    I highly recommend.

    Cheers

What is your amp and do you have it powered by the 1040?

The amp is the 1095. 5.1 channel.
Yes it's plugged into the 1040..on the rear of the 1040 the outlets are labeled, Amps, Digital (devices), analoge (devices). The 1040 powers up your kit in the proper sequence (amp on last and off first)
I coose to turn everything off and this is accomplished with the one push of the front button on the 1040. (the surge protection is still active in the 1040 even when turned off)

Well, after much deliberation, I finally ordered myself an RLC-1040. Can't wait to see what it looks like in black. Will post pics when I get it installed. My dealer had a V-day sale going on, so I got it at 10% off msrp ($449).

This may sound like a stupid question (wouldn't be the first time) but if you plug all those power hungry components into the same device, which itself is plugged into one outlet, don't you run the risk of throwing a breaker on a fairly constant basis? Or did you have that outlet wired to handle that kind of current?

A 15 amp circuit is a 15 amp circuit. No matter if everything on it is plugged into one outlet or they are spread out among different outlets. I would recommend trying the amp plugged into the wall directly and see if you notice any change in the dynamics and noise floor. If not, then leave it plugged into the RLC. Also, the next step for power "conditioning" is to add a Richard Gray. Love the RLC1040....real time voltage regulation with adjustable thresholds....mmmm sweeet...

Martino, and anyone else with a 1040 who powers everything off via the power button on the 1040, - have you ever lost any of your settings on your other components because of this? What is the longest period of time between power off and power on of the 1040?

Rotel suggests leaving the 1040 powered on (even though surge protection is still active if powered off). They told me memory settings on my 1068, 1060, etc. should last a couple of days if the 1040 is powered off. I would prefer not to leave it on but dont want to come back in a couple of days and find I have to reset everything on my pre/pro!!!.

Can anyone tell me their experience with this?

                                              Thanks in advance.

My RDV-1050 will last at least a week with no power. As far as the processors, I believe they are stored in the eeprom and shouldn't be lost.

Kevin, it seems you know more than the Rotel rep that I corresponded with regarding this. Doesnt surprise me.

Thanks! I will power off the 1040 and not worry about my settings.

                                                    RLC-1040 in Black!

Finally got my RLC-1040 today, and just got it hooked up. Looks awesome in black. Had to post a few pics, as I've never seen it in black before. Of course, pics are not great...black components seem harder for me to photograph well.

It was the first one my dealer had sold. He was surpised at how heavy this thing is, compared to the 'other' power conditioners they sell.

No battery in this one -- that would be the 1080 w/ battery backup.

does the RLC1040 have input and output for ethernet cable?

I looked at the specs on both the RLC1040/1080 and the pictures shows that the RLC1040 has conditioned in/outlet for either phone line or ethernet line. I'm more interested in the conditioning for the ethernet cable, but the specs state that only the RLC1080 has the ability to condition ethernet cables....

Mine is hooked up to a Parasound 1205A. The Rotel/Parasound combo does wonders for my Klipsch Reference speakers. Nothing stringent or fatiguing at all right now, as was the case when I was using an Onkyo receiver to drive my Klipsches. I expect this will only get better when my Magenta ADE-24 digital...

I am a newbie to the Rotel forum and have been quite happy with the info that has been shared amongst all the members.

I have just purchased an RSP-1066 (with the higher bandwidth board) and an RB-1080. I presently have a pair of PSB 500's hooked up and I now think that it is about time...

Just purchased a 1056 and a rb1080. Very happy untill I turned it on. I have the front speakers going to the 1080. I have the pre out FRONT L and R from the 1056 going to the unbalanced preout of the 1080. I get no sound coming from the 2 front speakers.

I hooked the front speakers up...
