In other words, lets say I use only a digital coax cable from DVD player to 1068. If I want to listen to a CD (using the DVD player) in another room using the zone 2 feature can it handle this? I know some pre/pro's and recievers can only output analog audio connections to a second zone but cant remember about the 1068.
Can 1068 output digital audio to Zone 2?

No. Zone 2 can only output analog signals. You would need to connect your DVD player with a pair of analog cables in addition to your digital connection.
MOST players will output digital and analog simultaneously.
(Although I understand that listening to different digital sources on the main zone and zone 2 would require a second set of DACs, I never quite understood why the implementation would not allow for the same digital source to be available on zone 2.)- Bottom

by radurayUntil just a month ago, I had a SD Sony 36” Wega CRT as the video component of my system. Feeding it, using component from the 1068, was an S-Video cable box and a S-Video/Component 480p Pioneer DVD/CD player/recorder. Sound from the Cable Box and the DVD/CD Player was via the digital coax and...-

by Chris DThis really needs to be highlighted here, since we are a steady A/V website for information:
