I am in need of a new dvd player and was considering this. Other options are sony's DVP-NS3100ES/B or a Toshiba.

I am seriously considering buying an RDV-1050 DVD today - $999 Aus.
I will be using this player in a dual role - as a CD, as well as a DVD player.
DVD-a and SACD do not interest me, so i dont mind SACD not being an option on this player.... -

Samsung announced a DVD player that will upconvert standard DVD (480i/p) to 1080i or 720p! And, it uses a DVI connection so that all the conversion takes place digitally and gets input the same. Of coursse you would need a DVI input HDTV to get full benefit, but it should be a big improvement it seems... -

Has anyone had to re-start there RDV1092? I am having to do this on a regualar basis, it seems to lock-up fairly easily. Sometimes I don't know why it locks up and other times it will lock up from a series of commands sent to quickly.
Anyone??
