    RSX-1067 vs. ADCOM GFR-700

Hey, I'm new here and looking for some experienced advice from those who own one of, or compared the above. I've narrowed down my choices between these two, and can't decide which way to go. The goal is to replace my 5 year old Denon AVR-3300 receiver. The nod is going to the Adcom receiver as I have an Adcom GFA-7000 THX Certified 130W Amp, and absolutely love the sound. I'm thinking of selling this as well, as it's ten years old, and I have a yearning for something new. (You guys know what I mean). This amp replaced my Rotel amp RB985MkII, which I thought was a little "bright" when conected to my Def Tech Speakers. Of course you are going to say why don't you just go seperates all the way and bag the receiver idea...Great advice, but the problem is I'm married and cost is an issue because of it. Anyway, I absoluely love the Rotel design over the Adcom since it's so svelte looking, but won't buy it unless I can be sure I like the sound. I use this equipment in a dedicated media room in my basement, which is for 60% movies, 30% Video Games and 10% DVD-Audio/SACD. I'm also considering the 1065 as I only have room for a 5.1 setup, but gotta get one with the silver faceplate!

Daymond....Rob here again. Replied to your other post. Go with the 1065 ! Its awsome. I've had mine now for 3 year and love it ever time i turn it on. I just resently have mine completely upgrade to the newest version of software which is 2.24 I just finished setting it all up and have watched some movies with the new software. Awsome !! The sound is incredible. 100 watts all channels drive and can you go wrong. If you like it loud while watching you won't be able to get enough of it. I wouldn't even think about it....Rotel all the way.

First receiver made by Adcom. A modern A/V receiver is a complicated beast. Rotel has had some QC problems themselves with this genre but they have been making them for a number of years. I understand that Adcom has had substantial QC problems in the last few years, so I would be reluctant to go with their first receiver.

RSX 1065 Voted Best Mid Range Receiver
          by ezc
I just got my latest issue of Home theater July 2003. I was suprised to see the Rotel RSX 1065 as the best mid level receiver! Quote "At $1,999 it matches or surpasse the $3,999 receivers in everything but features and is now my referance receiver" Mark Fleischmann Sept 2002 HT. My 1065 is...

Upgrading from B&K AVR307 to RSX1067 worth it?
          by Dmantis
          Ok,
Let me start out by saying I loved the rsx1065 and the combo of the rsp1066 and rmb1075. I own a B&K avr307 and thinking of coming back to Rotel. The rsx1067 caught my eye as did the rsp1067. Seperates would be the way to go a but the rsx1067 is so good in my opnion that I would consider...

Hi all. Great site and first time post for me. I picked up a Rotel RSX 1065 on the used market a couple of weeks ago. I also picked up a set of new B&W DM602s3 bookshelf speakers to go along with it. Everyone knows that Rotel and B&W make an excellent combination, or so I thought....
