Very interesting. The US prices are extremely competitive. 20 to 30% lower than in Europe. If I look at the RMB-1075 it is even 40% lower. The same is with other products. A Benchmark DAC is selling in the US for $ 975 and in Europe for Euro 1100. 30% off!!!!!!! And so one and so one! I wonder what the reason is?

You can always buy it on your next vacation in the States and bring it back. If you buy it only, you don't pay any sales tax at all, at least in some States, don't remember which ones any more. :twisted:

Jim777 you are right. VAT. But here in Switerland it's only 8.4%. The difference is trade margin. Probably due to much smaller volumes and relatively high Point of Sales Cost. Still, a significant difference, given the fact that the services provided are not always up to standard (Warranty period, Stock keeping, Demo items, change in distributorship....). The industry is operating in Europe still very much within national boundaries. ..

If I buy in US, will power be a problem... I mean will the Rotel units are switchable between 120 and 220V power...???? to use it in Asia....

where exactly in asia? you need to know how many hertz or cycle on your country dont worry about voltage 'coz you can buy a step up or step down transformer.

base from the specs from the website it says "power requirements is 115v /60Hz (US version) 230v/50Hz (european version)" so from here you will know if US version will work on your country.

Just my $.01 opinion.

I believe the power supply in India is 220V - 50 Hz. Having looked into the same matter myself, I was told by the Rotel dealer here that I could have Rotel put in a power supply here appropriate for the country for an extra US$50/-.

BTW! Montana is another sales tax free state, but might not have an abundance of Rotel dealers. Try Fred's Sound of Music in Portland, OR.

As much as I know, Rotel is not putting in new power supplies. Supposedly all their gear is done for 115v /60Hz and 230v/50Hz. However, there is a switch (or a "jumper")inside your gear, but you might need a blueprint from Rotel itself. I got one for my RSX-1055, but haven't actually used it yet. I looked deeply into that matter in the past.

Any good sites/dealer with step-up or step-down transformers? They are hard to find if one doesn't know where to look.

hello guys!!! Well, I think you can go to any electronics stores to buy a transformer. Just dont forget to check which voltage & cycles that you need and also you need to know how much is the wattage (source) that your using 'coz more watts (soruce) bigger transformer.

The RMB 1095,1075 has had my eye for some time now.

np with that...yup, I agree with you! This pricelist will give us a rough estimate on a good deal on new or used.

ohoh you watching on those two amps huh..!??! hehehe well, me too also prior of having the 1075, i've been checking on those two but budget wise I end up with 1075 which is not bad for me but I can't imagine if I got the 1095 though.
