Looking to get the 1065 or 1067. Like the idea of having the extra 2 channels. Any thoughts or suggestions on the 2 or do i have other options? Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

I assume that you are thinking about a 1056 or 1067 receiver. I beleive that the 1056 has 5x75 amplification and the 1067 has 7x100. So, if you require a 7.1 system right out of the box, the 1067 is your answer. Personally, if you are going to spend the money for a 1067 and you can wait for a full 7.1 system, I would opt for a 1075-1068 separate combo, for a little more money. With the 1075 you will have 120x5, which will certainly provide a fuller soundstage than the 1056 or the 1067. Also, if you do listen to the tuner at all, a separate tuner will seriously outperform the internal tuner of the 1056 or 1067.
Good luck. Listen to them all. I am sure that many other forum members will have useful comments and suggestions.

Or alternately, get a 1056 and 1075 which will be about the same price as a 1067 anyway and you'll have 10 channels of amplification to play with!

If I use the 1080 to power the bass I get almost nothing. If I use the 1067 for the bass it's good - but I would much rather use the lower power 1067...-

I went throght 3 RSX-1056 a couple of years ago due to video upconversion problems and finally gave up and bought a Denon. I do like the Rotel sound and since I do not need video switching anymore...-
