    1057 + 1077 How to properly connect?

    Hello group,

My amp that I was using to get me by until the new 1068 version comes out later in the year...has a dead left channel...forcing my upgrade issue.
(looked for a blown fuse, but not it)

I had heard 604's blowing amps...and kept the volume at most 25%, what do you expect from a old crappy amp with 95 Sony watts per channel.

Well I'm sold on the 1077 regardless.

I really could use the HDMI switching for my projector, so I dont have to run multiple cables to it... therefore considering the 1057.

Sonically I'm aware the 1068 is the best buy.

The real question since I'm a somewhat newb in the area... is how will I be interconnecting the 1057 +1077 to the speakers. I was planning to bi-amp my fronts with the extra channels of the 1077 and I'm not quite sure how that is properly done when the feed from the 1057 is amped already. Will I be able to utilize all my amped channels?

If not... I guess the 1068 + 1077 would make clean sense.

    Thanks as always.

You will be using the 1057 as a preamp for the system. I wouldn't use any of the amplification on board. You then need to run 5 RCA cables to the 1077. If you want to bi-amp your fronts, you will need to get 2 RCA y-cables to split the front output into two sets of inputs.

After that you will hook your speakers to the 1077. Beside having amps on the 1057 you won't use, the hook up is the same 1068/1057 when using an amp.

      Thanks Kevin,

I wasn't sure if you can use the onboard amps or not and you answered my question to the point.
