    my Rotel 1060 - stopped playing DVD's !

    Hi.
    I tried to play a DVD today- the player read it as 'NO DISC", tried another one and another one - (all worked great last time) , does not work !!, I shut off the unit, unplugged the power cord, restarted - nothing. It does however play audio discs. never changed settings ever since I bought it (8/2005)
    Anyone's experience /ideas ? should I hit the attic and send it for repair ..? :cry:

      The optical pick-up failed. Send it out for repair. It should still be under warranty.

          Thanks Kevin, I suspected it was more profound than just a setup/reset issue.

              I was instructed by my dealer to send the 1060 for repair. I will keep you posted with the actual lab diagnosis and outcome.

                      Got in touch with Rotel today. Plroblem fixed. The laser reader ( optical pick-up) failed. It was replaced by a new one. The DVD player is on it's way back after having been re-checked with my dealer.
                      I hope it's going to remain trouble free from now on !.
