1068 & Lazer-disc

Hello All,

I went old school over the weekend. Hooked up my Pioneer Lazer-disc player to the 1068. I couldn't believe the sound from the LD or was it the 1068. The Rock, Golden Eye, Die Hard 3 & Armegeddon all DTS rocked the system over the weekend!!!!!!

The LD doesn't look as good as DVD but it's a big difference in sound.

• no DRM
• no forced viewing of comericals.

I'll be watching my collection of hundreds of LDs for a long long time.

Both D-VHS and LD did it right with sound, while DVD is a bit lacking, I look forward to the potential that BD will have in terms of audio bitrates.

As far as I know, all the laser-disc's with DTS had full bit-rate DTS. Very few DVD's are graced with this, 99% are half bit-rate.

For the most part, the original 20 or so DTS discs! They had DTS plastered across the front (12 Monkey's is the main one I remember). Most of those have been discontinued. Here's a list:
