Best analog input for 2CH CD

I have an Arcam CD72T and use the analog out to the RSP-1066 CD L/R input. I make sure to select 2CH mode since my understanding is that selects analog bypass. The front speakers are set to Large in the Rotel settings.

A friend mentioned that the best analog sound will be achieved by connecting the CD L/R output to Front L/R of the multichannel inputs. I don't use DVD-AUDIO or SACD so these inputs are available.

Has anyone compared the CD versus multichannel inputs for sound quality? Does Rotel use better components on one or the other?

    Thanks in advance.

    Shaung,

I would do a A/B test and switch the outputs using the same cables and the same media for both test. It could just be a matter of personnel preference.

    Let us know the outcome,

      1068 question-cd- analog/digital inputs
      by RoMan
      Hi all,

      Maybe a silly question.

My cd player is hooked up both by analog cables and an optical cable to my RSP 1068. When I go to the input menu for Listen:CD I set it to Optical 2. Ok, I then go and play a cd. When I'm in PCM 2 CH mode I cannot choose Bypass or stereo...

Best way to use the C1/C2 for 2ch listening
      by slayer
Not sure if this forum is still active with the Halo C1/C2 being on the old side. I have used my C2 for the last 6 years or so. I posted on another thread that I'm not always happy about my 2ch performance. So I pulled the trigger and bought a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 21 Tube Dac. My friend made me...

      Programmable inputs not exactly so
      by starford
Here's a little gotcha that I didn't quite pick up on when originally reading the specifications on the C1 (proabably applies to C2 as well).

The unit's inputs are programmable, but not fully so. What I mean is, there are some resources as inputs that are assignable and some that are...

      RSP-976 analog inputs not working
      by pasiparkkila
My RSP-976 does not route any of the 2-channel analog inputs to the
surround outs. I.e. when I connect my DVD player to Video 1 using the analog audio inputs I get no sound regardless of what the input setting for Video 1 is in the menu. When I make the audio connection using one of the digital...

      Dolby TrueHD/RSP-1068/Multi Input Help!!
      by jrlaw10
Help needed for a novice please!! I have had my RSP-1068 for a year and love it. I have been using a standard DVD player and have connected my audio via a coaxial cable. I have a 5.1 speaker setup. Setup was easy: Video Input 1 is my DVD player with the input as coaxial 1. The default mode is Dolby...
