    Sonic Difference

I may connect an RB-1070 Amp to my Rotel RX-1052. Will I notice more transparency in the sound? My dealer has told me that the RB-1070 would not provide much more power. I kind of find it hard to believe because thats an additional 30 watts.

Going to a 1070 will give you a better sound (subject to your ears), but stepping up just 30 watts will not make it go much louder or more dynamic.

Honestly to get a substantial improvement, I would start looking at a RB-1080.

      Thanks

      Kevin,

Thats exactly what my dealer recommended. I had no idea I would get this involved in the sound. The 1052 powers my Stratus Mini's quite well. I can tell the Mini's would sound even better with more power. Should I just sell the 1052 and go seperates? Money would be an issue right now. One thing I have noticed about the 1052 is that it doesn't sound like a receiver.

        RX-1052 with Stratus Mini's
        by frisco64
This is s great combination. I was told that the PSB Stratus Mini was terribly power hungry. I do not agree. These speakers sound fantastic with a huge soundstage and power. These have to be some of the best monitors around...even today.

        RX-1052 as Pre?
        by frisco64
I just purchased a pair of PSB Stratus Mini's and now I am finding my Rotel Receiver just slightly underpowered to drive them. The sound is fantastic but is it possible to get a RB-1070 Amp and use the RX-1052 as a preamp tuner?

Rotel RB1070 vs Rotel RB1090 review

I'm going to write a little bit about these 2 Rotel amps from my experience with both in my system at the same time.

        Setup:
        SqueezeBox3 -> Rotel RC1070 preamp -> Rotel RB1070/Rotel RB1090 -> Martin Logan Summits -> Joey's ears

        Build:
        The 1070 is...

        2 ch 1069/1070 vs 1052
        by Jagguy
I am an infrequent poster, but constant viewer. With that being said, I am looking for any input on a strictly 2 ch comparison. I have an rx-1052 and rsp 1069 and am trying to figure out which route I should go. Unfortunately I don't have the rb 1070 in order to do the comparison for myself. I am...

        RB-1080 and RX-1052
        by Parsonsk
I recently added this note to a thread already started but figured i'd get more response from a dedicated thread....

Would it be possible to hook up the rb-1080 to the rx-1052 and run in it in different zones, more than one set of speakers?? I was considering this because i wanted the...
