So I went to go buy a 1066 today only to find out that they've been discontinued and are no longer available. Anyone hearing anything about a new model?

Yes, it is correct. Rotel discontinued the RSP-1066 and will be coming out with a replacement. However the replacement will be unveiled at the CEDIA show sometime in January. No one has seen the replacement yet.

I love the speakers. They have a reach that is perfect for my long living room. The bass is so deep and rich that I don't need a sub for music. Vocals are clean and natural on the mains while providing plenty of punch for faster stuff. The center has a very natural and full sound. Voices sound life-like. I watched The Cure's Trilogy concert and sat in awe.Comment

Just to chime in... I too love the Marantz MA500s. I have 5 of 'em and think that they are excellent for the money. If you ever wanna get rid of them, they always get good money out on eBay.Comment

Well it's about 4 weeks since the arrival of my replacement 1066 initially I was impressed with the sound, nicely detailed and smooth sounding. Then doubts crept in after reading threads on the new 1068, kept on thinking maybe there's something better out there. I have now gone back to listening to... -
I bought the RSP 985 a couple of weeks ago.Had some trouble in the beginning with it, but now everything is okay.I loaned a 1066 from a dealer to compare the 1066 vs 985 (have the RMB 1075).I calibrated it and then the listening begun.I listend to my favorite cd's that i know well.And they sounded awful... -
The Rotel web site is updated to include the 1066 replacement, the 1068. They also have the 1068 manual online.
