Do you mix and match your rotel gears?

Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone uses RB-1080 with different brand pre-amp, for instance, Musical Fidelity, Plinius, Parasound.? If so , how do you like the sound.?

You bet, I found a rotel amp that "handles" my speakers quite nicely. Then the fun was swapping the preamps (Jolida, VTL) to get the sound the way I wanted it. That is the beauty of "building" a system from the ground up versus buying one off the shelf allready packaged up. Also seperates versus a reciever. You can tailor it the way you like, and then "tweek" until your'e hearts content. I use a Halo T-3 tuner, which replaced a Carver TX-11 and the difference was very noticable. If you don't mind used pieces, you can buy reasonably priced and if your'e not happy resell and get most, if not all of your'e money back until you find what you want.

I use Rotel amps with Marantz as my pre. Works out nicely.
