I seriously doubt the 1068 adds any coloration to the audio signal in pure analog bypass mode. Just don't use any frequency compensation on the 1068. I believe the only way to get a better sound, is to connect the source directly to the power amp, but then no volume control !

the instruction manual states that the cd player should not be directly connected to a power amp. what i really want to know is, by using the 1068's speaker levels and delays etc, this compensates i little for my sub-standard room. however i'm not sure whether the 1068 would be as good as the 640c as for as stereo processing goes. i am still running in the 640c so i havn't done any critical listening.

        1068 For Music
        by tomm
I currently have a Cambridge Audio Azur 640c Cd player connected to my 1068/1075 combo via analogue connections and through the CD bypass. As I understand it, the 1068 should have no influence on the music. Since I bought the Rotel combination my preferences for watching movies has wained and I listen...

        1068 7.1 processing
        by Nolan B
I am thinking of going from 5.1 to 7.1 in the near future for two reasons.

        1. My room is good for it and my surounds are 10 feets behind listening position.

        2. Lord of the Rings in HD will be released in 7.1 TrueHD come Nov.

Questions and thoughts / Rotel RSP-1068
        by metallo
        Background,
I have for a while tried to decide witch component that will decode the audio (only 2ch stereo), Rotel RSP-1068 vs Denon DVD-2910. I have mediocre interconnections (~$50 per cable), and a Rotel RMB-1075 amplifier (biamped) to Infinity renaissance 90 (about $3600 in the -90/-95),...

        1066 vs. 1068 Comparison
        by Nick Danger
        Hello all:

I bought the 1066 in December 2003 and a few months later, out came the 1068! Subsequent to purchasing Rotel separates, I bought a VPI Aries Scout and have submerged myself in LPs since. I would now call myself an analogue junkie (or vinyl junkie).

        I have read...

        RSP-1068: Deal or No Deal?
        by rhubarbe
I found a couple of ex-demo RSP-1068s (I'm in the UK) which I can get for £450 each (about $900) complete with a Rotel two year warranty.

Now, I am well aware that this model is due for replacement, maybe as soon as Q3 this year, but most likely later than that. Right now I don't need...
