Its a workhorse, so yes they tend to get toasty. Rotel disipates the heat well which is why we can feel it.

I concur, it's packed full of heat producing components that run at full tilt reguardless of the volume level.

Indeed, just ensure you have adequate ventilation, and the Pre-pro is on top of the rack if possible.

It gets hotter than my amps! So I keep it on the top shelf, right under the fan.

Hmmm...I am in the minority here.I have never noticed the heat from my 1068...and certainly not warmer than my 1095.And never have I felt it hot...it also in less space than the amp.....funny.

It may be "mode" dependant H. Donald, on the left side you will note the vents which may be above the power supply and or processor. Mine is cool this morning, but I have noticed it run hot. Still not to worry.........

Would the RSP1068 also make a good 2 channel preamp?
                      by BKSinAZ
I am a 50% music and 50% movie person with my system and in need of a prepro. For 2 channel music, how is the RSP1068? Not really into buying two preamps.

How does the RSP1068 compare with the RSP1056 for 2 Channel music?

                      Preamp choices: RSP1068 or RSX1056 or AVR3805?
                      by csuzor
Is the better choice the RSP1068 or RSX1056 for pre-amp duty?

I will add the RMB1066 (in bi-amp mode) or the RMB1075.
I am upgrading from a denon1804 to drive B&W700series in 5channels only (no sub yet)

Being budget limited, choosing the RSX1056 allows me to...

                      RSP1068 problem
                      by wywong
Hi, my 4 yrs old rotel rsp1068/rmb1075 suddenly drop the right front channel yesterday. I switch the RSP1068 pre-out right and left front connection and the problem will move from right to left. So it definitely mean it is not a cable or rmb1075 amp issue. I try power cycle, unplug the power and wait,...

Hey chaps, I hope you can help.

I finally switched from digital coaxial to 7.1 analogue connections between my HTPC and Processor to take advantage of the new sound formats.

Unfortunately the upgrade has introduced a nasty buzzing sound through the speakers. It does not...
